Mission:
At Arc Veterans, we are dedicated to empowering veterans and their families with robust opportunities in the growing clean and green career sector. Our mission is to bridge the gap between military service and meaningful, rewarding civilian careers by offering customized courses, certification paths, and unique career development opportunities that align with the rapidly evolving green economy.
Vision:
Our vision is to lead the path toward a sustainable future by aligning the valuable skills and dedication of our veterans with the increasing demand for green jobs. By integrating veterans into the green economy, we aim to contribute to the prosperity of both our veterans and our planet, fostering a resilient workforce prepared to face the environmental challenges of our time.
Arc Veterans is passionately committed to the successful transition of our brave servicemen and women into the civilian workforce. Our organization was founded by veterans who understand the challenges facing every servicemember during their transition. We believe in the potential of every veteran to contribute significantly to the growth of the green economy, an industry that, according to the U.S Department of Labor, is expected to grow twice as fast as the overall job market by 2026.
Each year, approximately 200,000 veterans leave the service and enter the civilian workforce. According to a Pew Research Center study, 26% of veteran respondents found shifting to civilian life to be very difficult or somewhat difficult, and that percentage jumped to 48% for veterans who served after 9/11. Our dedication is to make this transition seamless and rewarding by providing structured programs that accommodate the specific needs of our service members, offering flexible timeframes for apprenticeships and internships in green businesses.
As the clean energy sector continues to expand, it doesn't just offer job availability, but competitive wages as well. The median salary in the green industry often exceeds the median salary of other sectors across several states. By equipping veterans with the necessary skills and credentials for this dynamic industry, we're not just creating a pathway towards employment, but towards fulfilling, prosperous careers.
At Arc Veterans, we are building a better world for both veterans and the environment. By investing in our service members, we enable a cleaner, greener future.
Transitioning servicemembers, whether it is a 22-year old exiting after an initial 4 year commitment or a 20+ year veteran with extensive leadership experience, all have something unique to offer the community. The professions and MOSs that exist within the military all have transferrable skills that will augment and deepen the capabilities and communities being built around green technologies. Veterans understand commitment, esprit de corps, and teamwork better than any other cohort in the world. This understanding and dedication makes us perfect candidates to drive meaningful change to this growing industry.
The ability to have a successful career that provides meaningful impact to addressing the biggest global threat of a generation is both a necessary and noble pursuit. Deploying skills to solve water shortages, impact climate change, create clean energy, and restore balance to a global environmental ecosystem reinforces a foundation of why many of us chose to serve: to provide selfless service so that future generations may benefit from our efforts. The planet's recovery is a mission, and we need the skillsets to enable the just transition and support sustainability development goals now to harden our planet for the future.
Working with business and organization across the entire cleantech sector, our partners provide job opportunities ranging from administration of grants to installation of wind turbines and everything in between. Growth is happening globally, and many careers will have options in multiple states or even other countries. As the program grows, so will the opportunities to attain personal and professional growth. Success breeds success, and we can enable the passion to partner once our civilian partners understand our dedication to the mission and our ability to get the job done.
